September 2018 Hongkong jewelry show: the industry is optimistic about Hong Kong

The world's largest jewelry and jewellery exhibition opened at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on September 14, 2018. People in the industry expressed optimism about the prospect of Hongkong's jewelry industry. It is believed that as long as we do well in e-commerce and grasp the opportunity of the "one belt and one way" initiative and the two major national policies of Guangdong, Hongkong and Macau, we will be a new breakthrough for Hongkong's jewelry industry.

According to a monthly survey of retail sales conducted by the Statistics Office of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in June, precious goods such as jewellery rose by 27.8% annually, the largest increase in the retail sector, reflecting a recovery in the performance of the retail sector in Hong Kong. Du Yuanning, chairman of the Hong Kong Association of Jewelry Manufacturers, said that the current prospects for Hong Kong's jewelry industry are clearly moving in a positive direction and believe that the future will be better and better.

He pointed out that when the country vigorously promotes the "one belt and one way" initiative, and its Jewelry Group has accumulated more than 20 years of business platform in the Middle East, they will take advantage of their advantages to seize the opportunity and become the first batch of Hong Kong businessmen to expand the jewelry market along the "one belt and one road" initiative. "We're just going back to the right business strategy," says Du Yuanning, who aims to set up more than 20 retail outlets in the Middle East.

He also said that the market has emerged many young consumer groups, as long as they master their consumption patterns and habits, especially in intelligent production, personalized product design and other elements to make adjustments, I believe that this is also a sustainable development direction of the industry.

"E-commerce is booming now," said Du Yuanning, who believes it is the new blue sea for Hong Kong's jewelry industry and another direction conducive to sustainable development.

He said that with the development of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau Bay Area, the mainland jewelry market is looking forward to the potential of e-commerce. He believes that the emergence of young consumer groups will make future consumption patterns slowly change to online consumption. He predicts that there will be a considerable increase in the jewellery e-commerce market in the mainland from 1 to 2.
